Creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

I love potatoes in every form, and these roasted garlic mashed potatoes are one of my favorite side dishes. They’re creamy, full of flavor, and simple to make. My family adored them, and they pair especially well with rich mains and bright salads.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cut into equal-sized chunks
  • ½ cup milk
  • 5 tbsp butter, or to taste
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 2 bulbs roasted garlic, cloves squeezed from their skins

How to Make Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

1. Place the potato chunks in a large pot of well-salted, gently boiling water. Cook for about 25 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the warm pot to let excess moisture evaporate for a minute.

3. Warm the milk and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl or in a small saucepan until the butter melts and the milk is warm.

4. Pour the warmed milk and butter over the potatoes. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves from their skins directly onto the potatoes. Season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

5. Mash the mixture by hand with a potato masher or use a hand mixer briefly for extra fluffiness. Mash until smooth and creamy, but avoid overworking to keep the texture light. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

6. Serve hot, with an extra pat of butter and more black pepper if you like. These mashed potatoes are excellent alongside roasted meats, braised dishes, or a bright salad.
