When chosen carefully, shows can entertain and teach positive lessons. I believe in allowing kids to enjoy TV while also guiding their viewing so it supports good behavior, curiosity, and learning.
My friend Kristy and I recently discussed how some modern programs — and even older favorites — can model disrespectful behavior by treating rude interactions as funny or acceptable. That’s why I look for shows that reinforce kindness, cooperation, and learning instead of glorifying bad attitudes.
